At WTW, career growth isn’t just a possibility — it’s a promise. Jenny Ford’s 11-year journey through various teams and roles is a testament to how talent can flourish within our global organization.

Jenny currently serves as an Internal Communication and Change Management Manager, supporting our Global HR team. In their own words, their role is about “managing change and communicating it to colleagues around the world in ways that are meaningful, actionable, and engaging.” Their work is crucial in connecting people and ensuring smoother transitions during times of change.

A career built on variety and learning

Jenny’s journey at WTW began in the Retirement Proposal Management group, where they crafted plans for the retirement business. This early role provided them with broad exposure across the organization and a solid foundation in our work.

Later, they transitioned into a client-facing consulting position within what’s now our Employee Experience business. Working with clients from various industries, Jenny tackled a wide range of Communication and Change Management challenges. “It was like drinking from a fire hose,” they recall. “You learn so much in such a short amount of time.”

This fast-paced experience and the learning it brought prepared them for their current internal role, where they support one client: WTW. “Now, I’m able to dig deeper, build strong relationships, and focus on the needs of our global HR team,” they say. “I truly feel like an extension of the team.”

The year of discomfort — and growth

One of the most transformative periods in Jenny’s career was what they call their “year of discomfort.” “I said yes to everything that made me uncomfortable,” they share. Whether leading unfamiliar projects or pushing themself outside their comfort zone, Jenny embraced doubt — and the result was exponential growth. “It’s the year I learned the most, not just about communications, but about myself.”

This mindset has stayed with them, helping them continually evolve their approach and confidence as both a communicator and a colleague.

A culture that supports flexibility and balance

Jenny’s long tenure at WTW is deeply rooted in our culture of flexibility and trust. Working remotely for many years, they’ve found ways to integrate work and wellbeing sustainably. “I walk my dog—a lot,” they laugh. “Sometimes I take calls while walking, sometimes I just step out to clear my head. It’s a small ritual, but it makes a big difference.”

They add, “I work hard and get things done, but I also take advantage of the flexibility WTW offers. If I need a break, I take it. That balance is key, especially during high-pressure times.”

Check why WTW stands out for other colleagues that value work-life balance.

    Beyond the desk

Outside of work, Jenny leads a rich and joy-filled life that keeps them grounded and connected. They’re an avid moviegoer, often watching films — great or terrible — with close friends. “Bad movies are sometimes better than good ones,” they share.

They also find comfort in crossword puzzles—“It’s kind of ridiculous how many I do”—and they’re a coffee lover who never turns down a good coffee shop visit.

Jenny also cherishes their time with their son, and their shared love for the outdoors has inspired a new project: building a home garden. “This is the first year I’m setting up raised beds. My son’s favorite food is cucumbers, so I’m growing them just for him,” they say with a smile.

With house projects, gardening, parenting and a fulfilling role at WTW, Jenny’s life reflects the balance they’ve crafted — one built on learning, community, flexibility, and purpose.
